How to write attractive web content?

Why write quality web content for your Site?

We often hear about “content marketing” or “Article marketing”. But what is it?

Many companies and even more limited companies choose to attract potential customers by building around their product (s) or brand (s) a community with common interests.

High-quality content is quickly exchanged through social networking, attracting an increasingly broad audience.

Content Ideas

Writing attractive and well-targeted web content has become very important, if not mandatory, in order to:

  • Improve your SEO,
  • Increase your traffic,
  • To establish your notoriety,
  • To display your expertise.

As an editorial coach and self-taught in Web marketing, founder of the Qualitext Agency, I would like to share with you 10 useful tips for writing better web content.

1. Never start with a blank page

Page and pen

The most difficult thing is to throw the first sentences on a blank page. Even after years of training, this blank page can be a challenge. Here’s what I suggest: never start writing on a blank page.

I suggest three ways avoid the blank page:

  • Write down the basics of your plan. A good article plan allows you to structure your ideas and find new ones.
  • Brainstorm and write keywords. Before you write nice sentences, make sure you know what you want to talk about. Integrate appropriate keywords into the different parts of your plan.
  • Inspire yourself from the work of others. You are probably not the first to write about the topic you have chosen. Search the Internet, copy and paste what you’re interested in and incorporate it into your plan. Do not forget to quote the original source (author name, the title of article and site, date) if you want to copy entire sentences that you think are relevant.

2. Stay Simple

Your idea is probably relevant and you have a lot to say about your topic. This is a very good thing because everyone likes to read informative articles written by passionate people.

But we are not all scholars in the matter. Suggesting an overly complex article can be counter-productive: the reader drops out and may even feel uncomfortable not understanding. So try to stay simple.

Use simple words and avoid jargon as much as possible.

Remember also that a web reader does not have the same reading habits as an offline reader. He will tend to “sweep” the texts with a look, looking for keywords that will confirm or not the interest of a further reading. So :

  • Take care of the presentation of your titles and subtitles;
  • Write short paragraphs
  • And make sure to highlight your keywords.

3. Address the target audience

target audience

Make sure the tone of your article matches the expectations of your audience. Keep in mind that you are writing to your prospective potential customers. To find the right tone, you need to learn more about your target and write for it.

In other words, your readers must naturally recognize themselves in your articles. This may take time and may need to adjust your content over time depending on the feedback.

When you write, imagine that you are talking to a friend or a group of friends. Use only words that you would use if you were in front of them. Speak to them as if they were in the same room as you. Do not think about other people or your SEO.

4. Use attractive visuals

Everyone loves the pictures. The less you have to read, the better. Add images to your text to make it more attractive. Always ask yourself this question: does this visual add anything to me?

Choose visuals that capture the attention of your readers and add value to the arguments you develop in your article. In a way, your images too must be useful.

A tip: use the infographics both to inform and engage your audience.

5. Provide practical advice

It is possible to find on the Internet a thousand and one information on any subject. But it takes time. Your readers will be pleased to find advice and comments, practical tips and ready-to-use user guides that they will only need to apply.

Imagine that you can take advantage of a list of practical tips gathered by a specialist in his discipline, rather than going to pick them up yourself.

Provide tips and experience stories related to your topic. Anything that will save time will be appreciated.

6. Be Interesting!

Today, the number of blogs is endless and it is a real challenge to stand out. There is too much information about everything and anything that is created every day on the Internet. But not all of them are useful. The key is to be interesting.

Visit the most popular blogs and analyze how they are written. Inspire yourself from the most popular topics in forums, sites, and pay attention to the people around you. Take advantage of their interests, their conversations, their desires.

The more you are in touch with your audience, the more interesting and appreciated your content will be.

7. Be relevant!

An interesting theme is important. It is even essential to have quality content.

It will also have to pay attention to two things: your title and your introduction.

With a good title, you attract the attention of readers, you promote your site/brand and try to attract readers to your site.

A good title can be:

  • A direct title, for example, “Spelling correction”.
  • A title-news to discover a new product/service, for example, “Description of such a spell checking tool”.
  • A title-how-to, for example … the title of the article you are reading.
  • A title-question, for example: “What tools can be used to make his creations flawless? “
  • A title-command, for example: “Have you reread by a professional! “
  • A title list, for example: “10 reasons why you should not leave errors in your articles! “
  • A title-testimony: “I have everything I publish re-read,” acknowledges CG, Founder of the site »

Heed your introduction: surprise your readers with an introduction that arouses interest and awakens curiosity. Your first lines must also announce what the article will talk about.

Be sure to give your readers a “good” reason to read more.

8. Show that you are an expert

No one listens to those who do not seem to know what they are talking about. Give your readers proof that you know what you are talking about and give them a good reason to believe you.

For example, you can talk about your own experience, give details that show you have experienced tools that common people do not have access to.

Go beyond clichés and show that you have confidence in yourself.

9. Heal your external links

Some people seem to be afraid to create external links and stop reading their article halfway. Do not worry too much about it. Of course, if you can quote your own sources, it’s even better.

However, if you have the opportunity to offer your readers articles that deepen your theme or give another perspective, why not?

Consider this as a way to give your content even more reliability.

10. Always, always, always reread your article before publishing

The typos and grammatical errors or spelling discredit you and the readers away from your site. If an error is forgiven, consider the effect of the accumulation of errors in an article. And in several articles!

Your reader will soon no longer be interested in the content of your articles, but only by a hunt for errors. So make sure you read and read your content several times before posting on the Internet.

Remember that Google may take up to 3 months to take corrections into account. If it is not your fort, do not hesitate to have you reread by professionals. Do not leave anything to chance, and you will be rewarded!
