Egypt to Lead Huge Solar Battery Project

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development – EBRD – is backing the project with a $30 million equity bridge loan, highlighting the international support for Egypt’s renewable energy ambitions. Once completed, the Obelisk project is anticipated to reduce CO emissions by approximately 1.3 million tonnes annually, contributing significantly to Egypt’s goal of generating 42% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030.
